Vehicle Description Eastern Shore Classic Cars is pleased to present this incredibly well preserved 1980 Mercedes 300D Turbo Diesel with an astonishingly low 103,000, original miles! Known internally at MB as the W123, these models surpassed their predecessor, as the most successful Mercedes, selling 2.
7 million units before production ended in the autumn of 1985 for the saloon/sedan versions.
Notably, it featured the first Turbo Charged Diesel engine offered in a passenger car.
The W123 gained the reputation of being well built and highly reliable.
Many taxi companies chose the W123, and they were a common sight in Germany.
Reaching 500,000 or 1,000,000 km with only minor mechanical issues, was common with W123s used as taxicabs.
The fact that anything under 200,000 let alone under 100,000 miles like this one, is considered low mileage is remarkable in and of itself.
This fine example of the 300D Turbo Diesel is presented in the rare and stunning light blue exterior over blue leather interior.
This vehicle was obtained when it was 5 months old by the current owner's family.
It was acquired from a close family friend.
It has been garage kept and lovingly maintained over the years.
This is a rare survivor vehicle that has retained almost all its OEM parts.
A close examination of the pictures and video will reveal no known rust.
The interior does show some signs of wear with a worn driver's seat and some cracks in the dash (see photos for details).
The carpets are in excellent condition.
The trunk is immaculate.
The owner has maintained extensive service records that are available for review.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most iconic Mercedes of the 80's in near pristine condition.
This classic MB is offered at a reasonable 13,000.
