This position ensures that the program is operating in accordance with federal performance standards, childcare licensing regulations and meets the health and safety policies of the Talbot County Health Department.
The Child Development Coordinator supports the mission of Talbot County Early Head Start and the Talbot County Health Department to nurture children, empower parents, and strengthen families by ensuring comprehensive, year-round early childhood and family development services to qualified families.
The Child Development Coordinator supports teachers to be able to provide exceptional caregiving and physical, emotional and learning support to all children, including those with special needs.
Positions in this classification may be grant funded.
MINIMUM
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
Experience:
Classroom experience, working with children birth through three years of age required.
Minimum of one year supervisory experience required.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS The desired candidate should possess the following:
Maryland Child Care Credential Staff Credential of level four or higher; Knowledge of Head Start performance standards.
