Summary:
Supports direct patient care activities by performing clerical and receptionist functions and communicates with all persons involved in unit operations.
Follows directions explicitly while functioning with minimal supervision.
Supports System and Nursing Strategic Plans, Relationship-Based Care, and Shared Leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR THE JOB:
Performs clerical duties which include but are not limited to:
accurate, legible transcription copying and filing chart assemble and breakdown telephone etiquette and technical skills scheduling of diagnostic tests Initiates, updates, and/or maintains authorized records and unit log books.
Maintains unit manuals and resource material.
Maintains an orderly work environment by minimizing clutter/noise in the nurses' station, assisting physicians and other health care team members with charts, and performing light cleaning duties.
Monitors, requisitions, and stocks supplies to maintain unit PAR levels.
Reports problems to unit manager in a timely manner.
Answers telephones and intercoms; receives and conveys messages; places calls, as requested.
Communicates with RN throughout the shift, establishing time frames and priorities to facilitate patient care and movement through the system; notifies appropriate departments of patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
Communicates in a professional manner and demonstrates respect for patients/families/significant others and health team members.
Offers support and feedback to peers and staff.
Applies principles of caring and healing in interactions with patients and families and with colleagues.
Seeks and supports opportunities for professional growth and development.
Serves as coach and mentor for less experienced colleagues.
Offers consistent and visible support to team members.
Strives to achieve excellence of service as described in the CARE Manual.
Responds to the following Shore Health System codes:
Code Red (in the immediate area), Code Pink (when called), Code Yellow (when called).
Responsible for honest behavior in all matters.
To the best of the employee's knowledge and understanding, complies with all Federal and State laws and regulations.
Maintains the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information.
Uses and discloses only that information which is necessary to perform the function of the job.
Ensures accuracy in the medication process, including, transport, storage and security of medications to include IV solutions.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in an office setting, performing similar duties.
Demonstrated accurate typing of 45 wpm; Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; mathematical aptitude.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
