Job Type Full-timeDescriptionJOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARYThe Marketing and Development Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of Talbot Hospice's marketing, communication and fundraising activities.
The Marketing and Development Director reports to the Executive Director and works with the Board of Directors in communication, marketing, development and all related endeavors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Directs all marketing, communication and development activities including being responsible for the creation and execution of the annual integrated marketing, communication and fundraising plans and oversees all related activities of the organization.
Assures staff and contracted personnel understand and adhere to all laws, statutes and regulations regarding anti-kickback, lawful solicitation/marketing activities (gifts and services), patient solicitation and accurate marketing materials.
Prepares and manages the department revenue and expense budgets to reflect the goals of the organization.
Evaluates successful accomplishment of annual goals throughout the year, develops new strategies for targeted areas and meets goals.
Works to meet and maintain development goals for fundraising.
Meet with prospective donors and supporters-with a particular focus on major donors-on a continual basis to establish effective communications with them.
Leads and grows a major gifts program including identification, cultivation and solicitation of major donors.
Creates relationships with donors, volunteers, families, community leaders and other non-profits to advance the work of Talbot Hospice.
Supervises and assists with donor cultivation functions, which includes follow up correspondence, updating donor information, and meeting with potential donors and/or arranging introductions as appropriate, maintain gift recognition programs.
Coordinates donor approaches/relations with the Festival of Trees.
Oversees and directs all insourced and outsourced marketing and communication activities, including the Website, brochures and media relations.
Reports to the Executive Director on the progress of department goals and activities and provides periodic updates to the Board.
Educates, motivates and supports board members in their fundraising and friend raising responsibilities.
Make public appearances/accept speaking engagements to share information about Talbot Hospice with the community, as applicable.
Participates in professional education opportunities and suggests new strategies to keep the organization in the forefront of non-profit fundraising activities.
Attends appropriate meetings including staff, board, development committee, executive committee, finance committee, etc.
as deemed necessary by the executive director.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director/Administrator.
RequirementsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field, Master's Degree preferred.
At least three (3) years' experience in health care marketing and not-for-profit fundraising management preferably in hospice care operations.
Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
Ability to market aggressively and deal tactfully with customers and the community.
Knowledge of corporate business management.
Demonstrates good communications skills, negotiation skills, and public relations skills.
Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
Recommended Skills Administration Assertive Brochure Design Business Administration Corporate Laws Finance Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
